amend 4.0.2 – What’s new
Edit your messages within 15 minutes, smarter screenshot protection with an on/off switch, and visits to your friends' forests.
Version: 4.0.2 · Released: 3 November 2026 · Available on: Google Play (closed testing)
Made a typo? You can now fix it instead of unsending the whole message. This update also makes screenshot protection smarter and lets you visit your friends’ forests. It includes everything from 4.0.1.
New
- ✏️ Edit messages – Long-press a text message you sent and tap Edit within 15 minutes, the same window as unsend. Everyone in the chat or shared garden sees the new text, marked edited.
- 🌳 Visit your friends’ forests – In the Forest tab, tap a friend on the Friends’ forests leaderboard to see their trees, points and streak, then message them from there.
Improved
- 📸 Smarter screenshot protection – You can now take screenshots of your own screens, like your chat list, forest and settings. Chats and other people’s profiles and forests stay protected, and so do your own chats.
- On/off switch – Turn screenshot protection on or off in Settings → Privacy & security. It’s on by default.
- Your forest now updates for your friends as soon as a new tree grows, not just once a day.
Privacy and security
Edits are end-to-end encrypted like every message, and only the person who wrote a message can edit it. Your shared forest goes only to your contacts, encrypted, and only if you turn on Friends’ forests. Screenshot protection works on your own phone: it can’t stop someone who has turned it off on theirs, or who photographs the screen with another camera.
Known issues
- People on older versions of amend won’t see your edits. They’ll see the original text until they update.
- A friend’s forest shows only after they update to the latest amend.
